Versatility β’ Art β’ Heart
Weβre MORE than paintings
BUT ALL ARTπ€
So who knew all those much younger years of me getting in trouble from marking on walls, furniture, books, clothes, and even my body were the beginnings of me becoming an artist. I mean, I knew I appreciated art as an admirer but the thought of me one day becoming an artist was far from my short term or long term personal goals and expectations. I knew being an "artist" was in me but I "thought" it would be in clothing, web design and/or music. Music is my first love and I will always have a passion for it and though I have no formal or even informal training in the arts, I wholeheartedly believe my gift is being a visual paint artist and I LOVE being here. First I love doing abstract painting because in this, I am totally and unapologetically free to be me. As I began to grow in my creativity, I have discovered a love for faces as well. Itβs something about painting eyes, open or closed that has captured me. That saying βThe eyes are the gateway to the soulβ is obviously trueππ€. From abstract to figurative to pop to expressionism, I feel its all in me. Like with any original art form, my art won't be for all but definitely for some! My heart is in my art and while I may embrace techniques, I abide by no rules.
WELCOME TO SHENEESE'S PIECES! I hope you are inspired and enjoy π
Comparatively speaking I am still fairly new to this side of the art world, I tend to use acrylics most often when creating art because this is where all the abstract painting started for me. However, I do occasionally use gouache, oil and soft pastels, inks and resin. I'm sure that working in a single medium is restrictive to my artistic process so I welcome all the versatility I can handle. Each of my original art pieces manifests in its own individual timing and style.
My work explores the relationship between both order and chaos, both fiction and nonfiction all while holding to a sense of pure freedom of expression. Exploring many different and unlimited possibilities of creating art without the rules of boundaries other than the physical boundaries of the canvas.
My approach to the canvas about 90% of the time is unmapped, as I want to be open to whatever happens in that moment of creativity based solely on the layers of colors, presence of textures and tools that I pick up for a particular piece. From there I may catch a vision that will actually come after I have started the piece that will lead me to a concrete destination.
Quite simply put, I am truly inspired by the imagination, originality, creativity, individuality and complete freedom that comes with abstract and expressionism art and how it allows not only the artist to be free but also the onlooker of the piece to take away whatever it is they see.
Finally, within my art, my hope is that people not just enjoy βthe artβ but to also feel and see different things that will cause us to strike up a brief conversation that may lead to new perspectives. Meaning itβs relatable. Art is a story and not every story is told the same but there is always someone that can relate to your story! Welcome to mine!π
